What do the words faith and trust mean to you? Both of these concepts are particularly challenging when we are faced with creating beliefs about ourselves and our concepts of marriage and commitment to a relationship. The words blind faith or trust are often referred to in the context of religion however noted atheist Richard Dawkins’ view of faith states that ‘blind trust is the absence of evidence,’ conversely W.H. Griffith-Thomas states that faith is ‘not blind, but intelligent’ and that it commences with the conviction of the mind based on adequate evidence.
